The basics
What is Get Me A Techie?+
A UK recruitment platform built exclusively for tech professionals — developers, engineers, data, security, product, delivery and technology leaders. We broker introductions between techies and companies while keeping both sides anonymous until an introduction is agreed and signed.
How do you make money?+
A single flat placement fee — 10% of first-year salary — paid by the company only when they actually hire someone. It's free to join, free to post and free to browse for everyone.
Why is everyone anonymous?+
Because it protects both sides. Techies aren't exposed to their current employer or buried in cold recruiter messages; companies aren't cold-called the moment they post a role. Names and contact details only change hands after a placement agreement is signed.
For techies
Does it cost me anything?+
No — it's completely free for techies, always. We only ever charge the company, and only when they hire.
Will my current employer see that I'm looking?+
No. Your profile is anonymous — a handle like “Techie #1042”, your skills and experience, but never your name or contact details. You can toggle your “Actively looking” badge on or off at any time.
How does a company get my details?+
Only after you accept an introduction (or apply to a role) andthe company signs the placement agreement. Nothing is shared before both of those happen — you're always in control of who sees your details.
Do I have to write my own profile?+
No — upload your CV and we draft an anonymous profile for you. You review and edit it, and nothing goes live until you approve it.
For companies
What does it cost to post roles?+
Nothing. Posting roles, browsing techies and requesting introductions are all free. You only pay if you hire.
What's the fee if I hire someone?+
A flat 10% of the hire's first-year salary (or total contract value for contract roles), agreed and signed before any introduction. There are no subscriptions, listing fees or hidden charges.
How do I get a candidate's contact details?+
Once a techie accepts an introduction, you sign the placement agreement electronically. Their full profile and contact details are released to you immediately afterwards.
How do I know the techies are real?+
Every profile is a real person, and we keep the pool free of spam and cold outreach by design. You browse anonymised profiles and only connect with people who've chosen to be introduced.
